“Healing Through Words — Empowerment Through Movement”

“Transformative journaling and movement coaching for women and girls.”

Welcome to KoumHope Foundation, Inc.™ - Healing Through Words—Empowerment Through Movement. At KoumHope Foundation, we welcome you to a community where transformation begins with self-expression. Whether through journaling or dance, we create spaces for women and girls to reconnect with their inner voice, build confidence, and grow into their most authentic selves.

As a mobile nonprofit, we specialize in supporting adolescent girls through creative movement and group sessions that promote identity, emotional wellness, and self-esteem. Our programs are rooted in mentorship, counseling, and social-emotional learning (SEL)—blending heart and healing through guided journaling and dance. We believe every girl deserves to feel seen, supported, and strong. Through our integrated approach, we help girls explore who they are, form meaningful connections, and embrace their power to rise. We’re so glad you’re here — let’s begin the journey together.

Our mission

The KoumHope Foundation, Inc.™ (KHF) is an accredited non-profit organization founded by Shushona Mason. Coach S. Mason and KoumHope Foundation bridge generational healing through journaling and joyful movement.

Our mission is to offer tools for self-expression, clarity, and confidence—for women, girls, and every beautiful soul in between. And to unite a diverse group of professionals dedicated to providing counseling, mentoring, and dance programs to adolescent girls, helping them overcome low self-esteem and enhance their social skills. Over the years, KHF has made a significant impact in various communities, raising funds to sponsor over 75 girls annually in after-school programs. In 2024, KHF introduced mobile vending, enabling more affordable sessions for families and offering scholarship opportunities to local students in surrounding areas. What are the program values? The Koum Hope Foundation aims to foster both mental and physical wellness among its participants.

Meet Coach S. Mason &

KoumHope Foundation, Inc.™

Hi, I’m Coach Shushona Mason—a trauma-informed coach, author, and the founder of the KoumHope Foundation. My passion is helping women and girls heal, grow, and discover their sacred worth through journaling, coaching, and movement. We believe healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some need space to write. Others need space to move. And many need both. Welcome to our community! I am dedicated to providing hope and support to our participants. Come and see what we're all about; join us on this journey.

Coach S. Mason holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in school counseling and additional studies in Christian education. She serves as a mentor and dance instructor across various organizations, including after-school programs and community outreach initiatives, where she facilitates the development of social skills and provides support to adolescents in addressing low self-esteem. S. Mason commenced her counseling career at Trinity International University. Presently, she fulfills the roles of educator, mentor, counselor, and testing liaison for the Koum Hope Foundation. As the Founder, President, and CEO of a distinguished dance and mentoring organization, S. Mason’s educational background enhances her commitment to helping children develop vital skills and cultivate independence.

What I bring to The Table:

My Approach to Journaling and Healing:

I believe journaling is a sacred practice of self-discovery. Through guided techniques, prompts, and reflective exercises, I help women and girls put words to their stories, find clarity, and unlock healing. In addition, it allows women to slow down, tune in, and unearth clarity. Expect honesty, prompts that go deep, and loving truth bombs—because healing doesn’t have to be perfect, just real.

Faith-first Approach:

God is my foundation and guiding source.

Real-life Resilience:

I began college while raising two children and facing life’s challenges. I’ve lived through the transformation I now help others walk through.

Creative Healing Tools:

Trauma-Informed Coaching – Gentle, supportive sessions that help women reclaim their voice, rebuild boundaries, and move at their own pace.

Wellness Impact:

Author of the 21-Day Journal Book – A guided tool designed to help women process their emotions, release shame, and cultivate resilience.

 My 21-Day Journal Book

This isn’t your typical “fix -you -up” guide. And no, you won’t find me asking “How are things going for you?” on repeat. You already know how things are going. What you need isn’t another person nodding and scribbling while you pour your heart out for the hundredth time. This journal is your space. A space where you’ll:

reconnect with who you already are beneath the burnout, the busy, and the BS. Your clarity, healing, and transformation are already within you. This journal gives you the tools (and real talk) to bring them to life. Coach Mason and Koum Hope Foundation believe healing is a full-body experience. Whether through words or movement, everyone deserves a space to express themselves, reflect, and grow. Together we offer powerful tools for emotional clarity, self-worth, and personal growth—for adult women and adolescent girls alike.

Recover The Burn Journal:

Resilient Woman | Unshakable Core

As I mentioned, journaling techniques aren’t here to fix you. You’re not broken. Journaling is your space. A space where you’ll cut through the noise, connect with your truth, and take bold, intentional steps toward the life you want. Here’s what you can expect with guided help: start reconnecting with your most powerful self. The one that’s been buried under burnout, stretched by expectations, and exhausted by the never-ending grind of trying to “hold it all together.” This journey is about becoming more you, not less. More grounded. More clear. More free.

So no, this isn’t therapy. But it is therapeutic. And it’s yours!

For Adults: Journal Coaching

Write Your Way Back to You

Let’s get one thing straight: journaling isn’t supposed to feel like homework—or therapy with a side of guilt. And coaching? Same deal. No one’s perfect (hi, including me ),

and that’s exactly why we’re here. This is your safe space to explore the real stuff—without judgment, pressure, or pretending you’ve got it all figured out. Yes, we’ll talk about the tough moments. But we’ll also laugh, learn, and let go of what’s been weighing you down. Whether you're just starting your healing journey or deep in the messy middle, I’m here to help you feel a little less overwhelmed and a lot more understood. So grab your journal, your coffee (or favorite beverage —no judgment), and let’s dive in.

Welcome to the Journey Within Self-Discovery Blog:

Are you looking to talk - or to finally be heard?
Are you trying to rebuild, piece by piece, the parts of you that life has worn thin? If you’re here, this is not a coincidence. This blog is your go-to space to breathe, reflect, and begin again because too many of us have learned to smile through stress. To function through burnout. To keep pouring from a cup that’s been empty for far too long.
But here’s the truth: Some women don’t know what their boiling point is—until they’ve already boiled over. This space says: Please don’t wait.

What Else is There to Know About Me?
I know what it means to carry pain and still long for joy. My own journey taught me that healing is not about rushing—it’s about pacing, safety, and self-trust. That’s why I create spaces where women and girls feel seen, safe, and supported.
When I’m not coaching or writing, you can find me creating journaling prompts, dancing with my girls’ program, or sipping tea with a good book.

I opened the doors to my private practice at a prestigious Christian school, offering girls a safe space to grow, process, and heal. I wove together Christian counseling, social and emotional learning (SEL), and dance movement to create something unique—an experience that helped young girls feel seen, supported, and empowered.

But healing doesn’t stop with our daughters. As mothers began trusting my voice in their daughters’ lives, they started reaching out for guidance themselves. That’s when my practice evolved—and journal therapy coaching was born.

I believe in sacred conversations. Open, honest, and grounded in grace.

I believe coaching should feel like a conversation of trust with someone who just so happens to have a degree in counseling psychology.

My goal isn’t to tell you what you should have done. I’m here to equip you with principles—faith-rooted, real-life tools—to help you move forward.

It’s never you against yourself. It’s us versus the dynamics. And together, we’ll shift them.

I’m a big believer in movement—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I work out regularly, I teach dance, and I find healing in motion.

I love to travel and explore new places. Every trip is a chance to expand my soul and see more of God’s creation.
